The District of Columbia Bar (D.C. Bar), based in Washington D.C., was created in 1972 by the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. The D.C. Bar provides the oversight and structures needed to maintain the legal profession's ethical standards and rules of professional conduct within the District. The organisation is the largest mandatory bar association in the United States, with more than 108,000 members across all 50 states and in more than 80 countries.

Project Scope
After a rigorous global competition, i3 Digital won the prestigious contract to revamp the D.C. Bar's website (www.dcbar.org). Tasked with creating a sleek, user-friendly web platform, we collaborated closely with the D.C. Bar team and stakeholders. Our initial step was selecting the ideal .NET-based Content Management System, ensuring it aligned with D.C. Bar's needs and integrated smoothly with NetFORUM, their association management software.

Kentico Xperience MVC was chosen as the ideal CMS for the D.C. Bar's website, offering the necessary functionality and framework for a user-friendly, adaptable, and future-ready site with excellent integration capabilities.
Leveraging our expertise in Kentico, our team crafted a stylish, responsive, and user-focused website on a secure, seamlessly integrated platform. We included custom widgets for easy use of Kentico's built-in marketing suite (EMS), emphasising Marketing Automation to enable D.C. Bar to track user activities and tailor content effectively.

We teamed up with the D.C. Bar to craft a clear and hierarchical information architecture reflected in the site's navigation. This empowers their team to easily manage content for specific groups (Attorney Discipline, Pro Bono Center, etc.), demographics, and functions.
Seamless Search
Building on Kentico's core search, we deployed a customised faceted predictive search with advanced filters. Users can now refine their search by category and relevance, enhancing the experience for the D.C. Bar's global members.
Personalised Experience
We integrated Kentico Xperience and NetFORUM to enable a seamless single sign-on for members and deliver personalised content based on their status and interests. This makes the D.C. Bar website a more valuable resource for its diverse membership.
The Result
The new site provides a streamlined user experience, which helps D.C. Bar's global members access relevant information. D.C. Bar's revamped website now offers a fresh, modern design and intuitive user experience, tailored to its global members.
This has translated to real results: a 63% surge in unique pageviews and a 91% increase in dwell time. Best of all, the D.C. Bar team now has a secure, easy-to-use platform for real-time personalised engagement.
