Heatable is a fully digital heating oil company and offers customers a low-cost, convenient way to get heating oil delivered to their homes via an intuitive and highly streamlined order, pay and delivery process that is fully integrated into Heatable’s ERP and in truck logistics system. Heatable launched in southern New Hampshire and Maine in October with a vision of disrupting the existing antiquated heating oil industry, which still primarily relies on phone-based ordering and paying by cash and cheque.

Project Scope
This project embarked on an ambitious journey to create a cutting-edge custom e-commerce platform designed to revolutionise the client’s digital presence. At its core, the platform required seamless API-driven integration with both internal systems and third-party tools to deliver a unified and efficient user experience. A critical component of the build was architecting real-time, bidirectional communication with the existing ERP system (E3), ensuring effortless data flow and operational harmony.
Adding to the challenge, the platform needed to sync flawlessly with two native mobile apps, enabling instant updates and a dynamic exchange of information. To meet the high-stakes launch timeline for Heatable, the project operated under a demanding six-month deadline, leaving absolutely no room for delays.

The Solution
Heatable chose Kentico’s EMS for its project, leveraging its core integration bus and advanced marketing suite. i3 Digital conducted an intensive 4-day UX/UI/Technical workshop in Maine, focusing on website architecture, product prioritisation, customer personas, journey planning, and conversion strategies.
The team customised Kentico’s eCommerce engine to streamline online oil orders, integrating seamlessly with the existing E3 ERP system and incorporating various third-party systems like Authorise.net for payment processing.
