JP Corry is one of Northern Ireland's leading building suppliers, with a network of 17 branches across Northern Ireland. 

Renowned as ‘The Complete Building Supplier’, JP Corry supplies everything from foundations to the finishing touches of a construction project, including timber, building materials, dry lining and insulation, doors, flooring, roofing, drainage systems, hardware, painting and decorating and civils products. In addition, JP Corry boasts several landscaping centres and architectural product showrooms, to help customers transform their building projects both inside and out.

Project Scope

JP Corry aimed to launch an attractive, customer-focused eCommerce website, designed for both current and future needs. Key features included easy usability, catering to diverse users, and high integration capabilities, all within a tight deadline.

The main challenge was integrating the website with JP Corry's stock/pricing system, focusing on:

    1. Product Catalogue Management: Automating the upload of 6,000 products into the CMS.

    2. Quote Service: Enabling real-time quotes for users, tracked within a user dashboard.

    3. Existing Account Management: Supporting existing customers with personalised account pricing on quotes, while driving new business.

The Solution

We began by integrating JP Corry's bespoke ERP data with the Kentico eCommerce product database, a complex task due to differences in how products were internally catalogued versus customer preferences. Our UX and UI teams collaborated with JP Corry and its customers to redesign the product structure for Kentico.

Next, we enhanced the customer purchasing experience with a quote tool for instant product quotes.

Additionally, we introduced a "Click and Collect" feature, enabling customers to easily pick up items with fixed prices from their shopping cart when available.

  • CRM Integration: Prices from the ERP system include bespoke discounts for each trade customer.
  • Order Status Tracking: Integration with the ERP system allows customers to view the progress of their orders.
  • Time-Saving Features: Introduced a repeat ordering function and an option to order 'out of stock' items, addressing key user experience priorities identified in the initial research.

The Result

This ambitious project has delivered outstanding results for both the client and i3 Digital. The website, previously on a proprietary CMS, now boasts a cleaner, modern, and highly engaging design. It's packed with functionalities vital for JP Corry's present and future needs, many of which evolved during the project. The impact is clear: a 20% increase in website traffic and over 30% more page views.
