Smiths Interconnect is part of Smiths Group, a global leader in applying advanced technologies employing 15,000 people, in 50+ countries and has been in business for over 170 years.
The overall goal for Smiths Interconnect was to overhaul their existing site and create a more modern, scalable online platform. This new site needed to effectively showcase their extensive product range, support their marketing efforts, and cater to the company's ongoing business expansion. The new platform needed to continue to be the go-to source for detailed information about Smiths Interconnect's diverse product lines and brands, serving their globally-oriented business units.
Kentico Xperience v13 was the chosen solution for this project, a powerful digital experience platform. Kentico Xperience is a highly scalable and secure platform that provides a wide range of features for creating and managing engaging digital experiences. It also includes robust product cataloguing capabilities that make it easy to manage and display product data.
In addition to Kentico Xperience, i3 Digital also developed a custom responsive front-end framework for the new Smiths Interconnect site. This framework is tightly integrated with Kentico Xperience and provides several key features, including:
- Accessibility features to achieve WCAG 2.1 (AA) Level compliance
- A responsive design that ensures a great user experience on all devices
- A clean and easy-to-navigate interface
The new Smiths Interconnect site is also future-proofed by using the latest Kentico Core development model, which is built on the Microsoft ASP.NET Core framework. This ensures that the platform will be compatible with the next-generation Xperience platform from Kentico.
