Carecall is a commercial subsidiary of the Northern Ireland Association for Mental Health and an organisational member of the British and Irish Associations for Counselling and Psychotherapy.The core team at Carecall and the extensive network of counsellors integrate seamlessly to provide a comprehensive, tailored service with a focus on improving the mental wellbeing of individuals and organisations.

Carecall’s client list comprises many of Northern Ireland’s best known private and public organisations,including central and local government bodies, manufacturing and services companies, health trusts and education boards, colleges and voluntary sector organisations. Taken together, Carecall helps to promote positive personal wellbeing in over 200,000 employees and students in and beyond Northern Ireland.


Carecall paired with i3 Digital to develop an app after a competitive tender process to develop a mobile application that would encourage users to engage with mental health issues. The solution was to allow users to test their stress levels via the use of a mobile device application on both Apple iOS and Google Android devices. The solution was to operate both online or offline to an Internet data gateway, 3G, 4G or Wireless network. It was always anticipated that the app would be mainly used in offline mode.

The first app of its kind offers employees of subscribing organisations free, confidential and immediate synopsis and support, and is available to use around the clock, 365 days per year. The new Carecall native app features a simple and quick 7-question ‘How Are You Feeling’ study which is immediately analysed. The user is given a rating on their stress levels and what they should do to alleviate their symptoms. The app, which brings complete confidentiality and privacy to the traditionally uncomfortable mental health equation, also provides advice on mental illness-related conditions linked to alcohol misuse, anxiety, bereavement, depression, eating disorders, phobias, and self-harm.
